She's been unapologetically honest, and now Tyra Banks is opening up about her past decisions. In a candid conversation, the supermodel and businesswoman confirmed that she underwent a nose job early in her career, and she has absolutely no regrets. "Natural beauty is unfair," Tyra remarked in a recent interview, adding a layer of depth to her thoughts. "I get really uncomfortable when women who are born with natural beauty judge others for enhancing themselves. It's not about what's natural; it's about what makes you feel confident."
At 44, Tyra teamed up with her supportive mom, Carolyn London-Johnson, to pen a memoir titled Perfect Is Boring. In the book, she dives deep into her decision to go under the knife. "I had bones in my nose that were growing and itching," she shared with People. "Breathing was fine, but I decided to add a cosmetic touch. I admit it! I've embraced fake hair, and I did my nose too. I feel like it’s my responsibility to be truthful with people about these choices."

The Pressure to Look "Natural" in Today's World
Tyra is also taking a stand against the societal pressure to look "natural" in an era where makeup-free looks dominate the fashion world. "We put so much emphasis on this no-makeup trend," she explained passionately. "But let's be real. As a model, I needed makeup. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that. It leveled the playing field for me. Gisele [Bündchen] might not need it, but I do! And guess what? We were both modeling for Victoria’s Secret. It's about embracing who you are, not conforming to someone else's idea of perfection."

As a mom to one-year-old York, whom she welcomed in January 2016 with her ex-boyfriend Erik Asla, Tyra has some strong opinions about her child's future career. "I wouldn’t love for him to follow in my footsteps and become a model," she admitted. "But I’d never tell him not to do it because that would just make him want to do it more. I’m all about supporting his dreams, whatever they may be. Even if modeling is one of them, I’ll still be there cheering him on and teaching him how to smize!"
