Al Roker couldn’t help but share the story with his Instagram followers, writing, “Kudos to @JoshDuhamel for catching the mouse [in] our @TodayShow #greenroom this morning.” Apparently, this little critter had been causing quite a stir in the green room for some time now. “Josh Duhamel, you caught the green room mouse?” Al asked the actor during the show. With an excited grin, Josh replied, “We got him!” It’s moments like these that remind us just how unpredictable live TV can be.

Josh’s Quick Thinking Under Pressure

Let’s just say Josh didn’t let the little critter get the best of him. The star of Safe Haven had the mouse cornered in a cup, but it managed to escape right as he was showing it off to Al. Without missing a beat, Josh sprang into action and quickly recaptured the mouse. It was all part of the day’s entertainment. After the dust settled, Josh humorously left the mouse and the cup sitting on the green room counter. “Oh yeah, just leave it there for somebody,” Al joked. One can only imagine what Josh was thinking as he headed out to appear live on television—hopefully, the adrenaline rush didn’t leave him too sweaty!

Josh Duhamel has always had a deep appreciation for the great outdoors. Whether he's at home or traveling, he makes sure to stay connected to nature. “Wherever I’m living, whether I’m home or on the road, I need to be someplace that has easy access to the outdoors,” he once told People in April 2017. This love for nature might explain why he was so calm and collected when faced with the unexpected mouse situation.

Josh’s passion for the outdoors isn’t just for himself—he’s making sure his son, Axl, shares the same enthusiasm. “He’ll go exploring and gathering things—whether it’s flowers or rocks. He really has a fascination with sticks. He’s just like me—he loves to be out there, he loves to get outside,” Josh explained. “For me, it’s important to get my son interested in that kind of stuff and excited about the adventures of the great outdoors as much as possible.”

Josh shares custody of four-year-old Axl with his ex-wife, singer Fergie, with whom he was married for eight years before they announced their separation last year. Recently, Josh has been linked to actress Eiza Gonzalez, according to Entertainment Tonight.
